Job summary

Coinbase is seeking a Senior Software Engineer for the Stablecoin team in a remote-first, in-person surge cadence. You will own on‑chain and backend services powering issuance, reserves, minting, burning, and rewards for custom stablecoins and partner deployments.

You will collaborate across product, design, and tech leads to ship quarterly, drive secure architectural choices, and produce high‑quality, tested code while upholding operational excellence.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in software engineering, including designing, building, and operating production backend services.
• Experience writing, testing, and deploying smart contracts (Solidity or similar) in production with real value at stake.
• Comfort owning a service end to end and composing service‑oriented architecture at scale.
• Working knowledge of security and correctness tradeoffs in onchain systems – audits, upgradeability, access control, key management.
• Familiarity with Golang and onchain fundamentals (Ethereum or similar), with DeFi or stablecoin infra preferred.
• Uses generative AI responsibly, with human oversight to deliver business-ready outputs and drive efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Own and evolve the smart contracts that mint, burn, and safeguard custom stablecoin supply, shipping changes securely.
• Build and scale backend services that power onboarding, issuance, reserve accounting, and rewards distribution.
• Partner with product, design, and tech leads to turn the stablecoin roadmap into shipped features every quarter.
• Drive architectural decisions across the backend and smart contract surface, balancing security, scalability, and speed of delivery.
• Write high‑quality, well‑tested code and raise the bar for operational excellence across the team.
