Job summary

Fidus Systems is seeking a Senior Embedded Software Designer for a fully remote role with travel. You will lead embedded software across networking, video, and communication applications; develop BSP-level software for Linux, RTOS, and bare-metal environments; and drive hardware/software/FPGA integration with customers.

You should have 8+ years in BSP-level development, strong C/C++, and experience leading teams.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of BSP-level software development in embedded Linux, RTOS, or bare-metal environments.
• 2+ years as a technical lead with project- or architecture-level responsibilities.
• Strong experience in embedded software design for communication, networking, and video applications.
• Proficiency with C, C++, and assembly in embedded contexts.

Responsibilities

• Lead and contribute to embedded software projects across communication, networking, and video apps.
• Develop and maintain BSP-level software for embedded Linux, RTOS, and bare-metal systems.
• Implement device drivers and manage kernel configurations; use Yocto or PetaLinux build systems.
• Design and debug software for FPGA SoCs; integrate with hardware and other components.
• Collaborate on HW/SW/FPGA integration; interpret schematics and datasheets.
• Utilize oscilloscopes and logic analyzers for debugging and optimization.
• Define architecture and set technical direction for projects; mentor multiple designers.
• Work closely with customers to understand requirements and exceed expectations.
• Stay current with emerging technologies and bring innovative solutions.
