Job summary

SaidGig is seeking an experienced electronics quality professional for a remote contract role focusing on PCB manufacturability, inspection, and defect analysis. The candidate will perform IPC-A-610/IPC/WHMA-A-620 inspections, AOI defect analysis, and counterfeit detection per AS6081, with semiconductor inspection using C-SAM and X-ray.

Experience with MIL-STD-883, Gerber data review, and PCB CAM software is essential.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of hands-on experience in electronics quality, CAM engineering, or failure analysis in PCB assembly, wiring, or packaging environments.
• Deep knowledge of IPC-A-610 and IPC/WHMA-A-620 inspection criteria.
• IPC CIS or CIT certification is strongly preferred.
• Experience reviewing Gerber data and using PCB CAM software for manufacturability and quality assurance.
• Proficiency with SMT processes, AOI defect analysis, and remediation of false calls in automated inspection systems.
• Experience screening counterfeit electronic components per AS6081 with risk mitigation.
• Hands-on with semiconductor inspection technologies such as C-SAM and X-ray imaging.
• Familiarity with MIL-STD-883 procedures.
• Strong written and verbal communication to document findings clearly.

Responsibilities

• Review PCB CAM and Gerber files for manufacturability, quality, and compliance with industry standards.
• Perform IPC-A-610 and IPC/WHMA-A-620 visual inspections and provide detailed feedback on PCB assemblies and wire harness builds.
• Analyze SMT and AOI defects and identify false calls; investigate root causes.
• Identify AOI false calls and provide corrective actions.
• Apply AS6081 counterfeit detection practices and provide risk-mitigation insights.
• Conduct semiconductor package inspections using C-SAM and X-ray imaging.
• Evaluate die-level inspection findings and MIL-STD-883 compliance.
• Prepare concise written reports and communicate findings to stakeholders.
• Collaborate with project leads to improve workflows and training datasets for AI development.
• Contribute electronics quality knowledge to support AI learning and performance.
