Job summary

YO AI Labs is seeking a Senior Electronics Quality Engineer contractor to support advanced electronics assembly, inspection, and QA. You will review PCB CAM/ Gerber data to ensure manufacturability and quality, and perform IPC-based inspections on PCBs and wire harnesses.

The role requires extensive experience with SMT/AOI defect analysis, counterfeit screening per AS6081, and C-SAM/X-ray semiconductor inspections, along with MIL-STD-883 familiarity.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in electronics quality, CAM engineering, or failure analysis.
• Strong knowledge of IPC-A-610 and IPC/WHMA-A-620 standards; IPC CIS/CIT certification is preferred.
• Experience with Gerber data and PCB CAM software.
• Expertise in SMT processes, AOI inspection, and defect analysis.
• Experience with counterfeit component screening under AS6081.
• Hands-on experience with C-SAM, X-ray inspection, and MIL-STD-883 procedures.

Responsibilities

• Review PCB CAM and Gerber files for manufacturability and quality.
• Perform IPC-A-610 and IPC/WHMA-A-620 inspections of PCB assemblies and wire harnesses.
• Analyze SMT and AOI defects, including false-call identification and root cause analysis.
• Evaluate counterfeit electronic components according to AS6081 standards.
• Conduct and interpret semiconductor package inspections using C-SAM and X-ray imaging.
• Support MIL-STD-883 compliance checks and component inspection.
• Prepare clear reports and communicate technical findings.
• Collaborate with project teams to improve workflows and training datasets.
