Job summary

CannonDesign is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to lead our electrical design efforts for building projects across education, healthcare, corporate, and science sectors. The role is remote within the United States with preferred locations near major hubs.

You will guide the electrical team, manage design delivery, and ensure QAQC adherence. Requirements include 10+ years of experience and a current US PE license; LEED preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 10 years of related experience required.
• Current PE in the United States required.
• LEED accreditation preferred.
• Advanced knowledge of electrical engineering.
• Ability to serve in QAQC process and as an independent reviewer.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong ability to interface effectively with clients and members of the design team.
• Able to effectively handle multiple projects.
• Experience in computer applications for engineering design programs (i.e. Revit, AGI32, Visual, SKM Power Tools) required.

Responsibilities

• Perform electrical engineering systems design for building construction.
• Oversee, guide, mentor and provide technical leadership to designers and engineering team.
• Participate or lead project teamwork planning sessions.
• May serve as project manager or project engineering leader and lead engineering meetings.
• Assume project engineering responsibilities and adhere to financial and work goals.
• Design lighting, power distribution, signaling, communications and/or telecommunication systems for healthcare, education/higher education and commercial clients per applicable codes.
• Prepare construction documents including drawings and specifications.
• Guide less experienced team members in execution of drawings.
• Review shop drawings and submittals; respond to RFIs and change orders in the preparation of construction documents.
• Construction administration; site visits; ensure QAQC and progress reviews.
