Job summary

Jabil is seeking a Principal Electrical Controls Engineer to lead the development, optimization and deployment of advanced control systems for data center infrastructure. The role focuses on power management, automation, and scalable architectures across PLC, BMS, EPMS and ATS platforms.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• 8+ years of experience in control system design and implementation.
• Experience with PLC programming (Allen-Bradley, Siemens, Schneider Electric).
• BMS integration and optimization experience.
• EPMS/EDPM experience for real-time energy analytics.
• ATS control and failover logic experience.
• Strong proficiency in control theory, system modeling, and MATLAB/Simulink.
• Familiarity with NFPA, IEC, and ISO standards related to control systems and safety.

Responsibilities

• Define and own the control system architecture across multiple platforms (PLCs, BMS, EPMS, ATS).
• Develop control system specifications and interface definitions for all subsystems.
• Program PLC/SCADA, develop HMI, and integrate with IT networks and facility equipment.
• Read/create BOMs, electrical schematics, and control diagrams; define sequences of operations.
• Define control logic and communication protocols (Modbus, BACnet, SNMP) for power and cooling management.
• Validate control systems through simulation, testing, and commissioning for reliability and safety.
• Lead FAT and SAT for projects and revisions.
• Develop system-level simulations and digital twins for pre-deployment validation.
• Integrate control systems with SCADA/CMMS/cloud-based monitoring; establish modular design patterns.
• Lead root-cause analyses for complex control issues during commissioning and operations.
• Collaborate with electrical, mechanical, software, and facilities teams for seamless integration.
