Optery, a fully remote company headquartered in the San Francisco Bay Area, is hiring a Senior Backend Engineer who'll work directly with the founders on product and technical direction. The role is backend-focused: Python and Django, with light frontend work when it makes sense (HTMX, the occasional React component).

You own features start to finish, including production readiness a week after shipping. This role is open to candidates based in Latin America.

Qualifications

• 10+ years building production web apps.
• 6+ years with Python and Django.
• Working knowledge of CS fundamentals: data structures, concurrency, SQL, system design
• Strong written communication; comfortable working async across time zones
• Self-direction and follow-through

Responsabilités

• Write code in our Django backend powering the consumer dashboard and B2B platform.
• Develop new features for the APIs powering consumer dashboards and customer reporting.
• Improve performance and reliability in Celery and RabbitMQ pipelines.
• Review code with a small backend team of other Senior Engineers.
