Job summary

OneStream is seeking a Senior Director of Software Engineering to lead multiple teams, drive the technical strategy, and shape the platform's architecture for scalable, secure, and innovative finance software. The role emphasizes delivery excellence, developer productivity, and cross-functional collaboration across Product, Quality, Security, and Platform teams.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of software engineering experience with 8+ years leading multi-team engineering organizations.
• Demonstrated success leading platform, infrastructure, or foundational architecture teams.
• Strong understanding of scalable distributed systems, cloud platforms, service design, and platform operating models.
• Experience driving engineering excellence: delivery, quality, reliability, security, and developer productivity.
• Proven ability to hire and grow high-performing engineering leaders and teams.
• Strong stakeholder management skills; able to align executives and teams on strategy, tradeoffs, and sequencing.

Responsibilities

• Drive the Engineering strategy and roadmap aligned to business outcomes and product needs.
• Partner with Product to deliver capabilities with scalable architectural foundations.
• Establish and communicate priorities based on impact, risk, cost, and developer productivity.
• Lead execution across multiple teams with predictable delivery and high quality.
• Build a culture of disciplined software engineering with clear requirements and effective release management.
• Ensure high-quality platform APIs, service contracts, backwards compatibility, and versioning.
• Partner with SRE/CloudOps to improve incident response and reliability practices.
• Ensure security-by-default, compliance alignment, and strong governance.
• Champion internal developer experience: CI/CD modernization, test automation, and streamlined workflows.
• Manage technical debt and enable modernization for long-term maintainability.
• Lead and grow Engineering Directors, Managers, Staff+ Engineers, and leaders.
