Job summary

Twilio is hiring a Sr Director of Developer Relations to lead a global team building strategies and programs that inspire developers to win with Twilio. You will lead a hybrid engineer-marketers org, shaping GTM motion and reporting to Marketing while collaborating with Product and GTM.

The DevRel team focuses on turning developers into heroes in their organizations, engaging online and offline, and acting as servant leaders within the community.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of leadership experience in developer relations, technical evangelism, or community advocacy programs (and 10+ years in technical field).
• Proven track record of building, training, and scaling global DevRel teams.
• Deep technical baseline with developer personas and workflows.
• Strong data-driven execution skills with marketing and growth impact.
• Excellent communication with executives, journalists, bloggers, and analysts.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a global DevRel figurehead, influencer, and speaker on the DevRel circuit.
• Define the long-term global narrative for developer marketing and align with Product/Marketing/GTM.
• Recruit, mentor, and grow a global organization of Developer Evangelists and community specialists.
• Guide the Startups Program and partnerships to establish Twilio as a foundational tech stack.
• Oversee technical content programs (video, newsletters, YouTube) and collaborate with PR to amplify developer-first storytelling.
• Evolve community strategy with UGC and ambassador programs to turn developers into advocates.
• Spearhead Builder event strategy and co-marketing with ecosystem partners.
• Act as steward of developer experience and inform product roadmap through community signals.
