Job summary

Maximus is seeking an IT Senior Architect - DevSecOps to lead enterprise DevSecOps capabilities, architecture, and security guardrails across government-focused programs. This remote role reports to the HO ET Architecture & Automation group and requires deep pipeline expertise, compliance focus, and cross-functional influence with senior peers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS, IS, Engineering, or related field.
• 7+ years IT experience; 5+ years in a senior DevSecOps/architecture role.
• U.S. Citizen; eligible for Public Trust or Secret clearance.
• Hands-on with GitLab CI/CD, GitHub Actions, Jenkins; Groovy; enterprise source control.
• Experience with Artifactory/Nexus and artifact promotion workflows.
• Proficiency with Crossplane, Terraform, and CloudFormation.
• Security-focused design in FedRAMP, HIPAA, SOC 2, PCI, and NIST/SSDF environments.
• Cloud architecture across AWS, Azure, and GCP; multi-account setups.
• IAM cross-account, SCPs, and secure deployment patterns.
• Familiar with Jira/Agile tooling and DevSecOps governance.

Responsibilities

• Oversee automation for daily and feature builds in public and private cloud.
• Define enterprise DevSecOps architecture, reference models, and guardrails.
• Embed security controls and vulnerability management into CI/CD pipelines.
• Collaborate with ISO on security reviews, risk decisions, and compliance monitoring.
• Lead platform adoption, governance, and cross-team collaboration.
• Mentor senior architects and engineers across the practice.
