Job summary

PayTrace by North is seeking a Senior Database Administrator to own PayTrace’s database environment, managing production and development databases across Linux and Windows. The role focuses on provisioning, configuration, operation, maintenance, and modernization of the database stack, including migrations to AWS RDS.

You will design scalable solutions, ensure data integrity, and provide leadership on data strategy, monitoring, and disaster recovery in a remote, US-based team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology/Computer Science or an engineering field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience supporting databases in an enterprise environment, with at least half in PostgreSQL.
• Strong knowledge of PostgreSQL v15 and MS SQL 2019/2022; experience with RDBMS on Linux and Windows.

Responsibilities

• Create and maintain databases for Production, Development, and Test environments.
• Ensure database availability and recovery meeting SLAs.
• Monitor, tune, and optimize database performance; review backups and logs.
• Migrate legacy structures to AWS RDS and support multi-region DR setups.
• Assist developers with tuning queries and procedures; support BI reporting.
