Job summary

North-South-Consulting-Group is seeking a Senior Cloud Database Analyst to design, implement, and maintain cloud-based database solutions on AWS for high availability and security. Remote work with a focus on supporting Army HR systems via modern data technologies.

The role requires strong PostgreSQL/Aurora expertise, IAM/security controls, and experience with ETL and data warehousing. A DODI 8570 TL III certification and an active Secret clearance (or ability to obtain) are preferred.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Database Administrator or Analyst in an AWS environment.
• Strong, hands-on expertise with PostgreSQL and Amazon Aurora.
• Experience with AWS database services, including Amazon RDS, and familiarity with database migration strategies (e.g., AWS DMS).
• Solid understanding of ETL processes and tools; experience with IBM DataStage is a plus.
• Professionally certified as Technical Level III as defined by DODI 8570.
• Advanced previous experience working in roles with strong written and verbal communications skills.
• Active Secret clearance required (or the ability to obtain one).
• Must be a US citizen.
• AWS Certified Database - Specialty certification is highly desirable.
• Minimum of 10+ years' experience with a Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science or a related field Or in lieu: BA/BS with 15 years experience

Responsibilities

• Lead the development, maintenance, and optimization of application databases and structures within the AWS cloud environment.
• Design, implement, and manage highly available and scalable PostgreSQL and Amazon Aurora databases using AWS RDS.
• Provide expertise in database security, including Cyber and IA systems maintenance, within an AWS context, implementing security groups, IAM policies, and encryption.
• Review and provide technical solutions for database-related projects, from initial design to deployment and ongoing support.
• Develop and manage data warehousing solutions, ETL processes (e.g., using AWS Glue), and report generation from various data sources.
• Oversee job scheduling, monitoring, and performance tuning of database systems to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
• Create and maintain comprehensive technical documentation for database architecture, processes, and procedures.
