Syms Strategic Group (SSG) is seeking a Senior Database Administrator for a 100% remote role supporting the Veterans Affairs (VA) department. The position requires a Public Trust (MBI) clearance and U.S. Citizenship.

The salary range is $76,217–$81,000, with a strong emphasis on Oracle and SQL Server administration. The ideal candidate will install, configure, and maintain Oracle and SQL Server DBMS, optimize performance, implement backup/recovery strategies, and enforce security policies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related field.
• 8+ years of database administration experience.
• Expertise with Oracle and SQL Server for performance tuning, backup, recovery, and security.
• Experience with EDIFECS in healthcare domain.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and upgrade Oracle and SQL Server DBMS.
• Design and optimize database objects and schemas.
• Monitor performance and perform tuning and indexing.
• Implement backup, recovery, and disaster recovery strategies.
• Enforce database security policies and manage user access.
• Collaborate with developers and IT staff to resolve database issues.
