OP Labs builds Optimism, a leading open-source blockchain network. We seek a senior data scientist to analyze large datasets, design data pipelines, and build dashboards for stakeholders.

You will partner with cross-functional teams to translate business needs into data-driven solutions in a remote-friendly setting with NYC as our center of gravity. The ideal candidate has 7+ years in data science, strong Python/SQL, and a passion for blockchain.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of professional data science experience.
• Degree in a quantitative field (e.g., CS, Statistics, Economics).
• Proven track record of designing and launching data science products.
• Experience collaborating with stakeholders from various business functions.
• Strong coding in Python and SQL; testing and deployment basics.
• Excellent communication to engage partners and drive alignment.
• Experience with web3 and blockchain protocols is a plus.
• Self-starter, ownership, and autonomy in architecture from scratch.

Responsibilities

• Analyze large datasets to extract insights and identify trends across blockspace.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into data-driven solutions.
• Design and build data pipelines to collect, clean, and preprocess data from various sources.
• Perform statistical analysis and hypothesis testing to validate models.
• Create data visualizations and dashboards to communicate findings to stakeholders.
• Stay updated with blockchain tech, AI, and data science methodologies.
• Conduct research to explore new opportunities and improve models.
• Develop and maintain key metrics and reports, enhancing data infrastructure.
