Job summary

OP Labs builds Optimism, a leading open-source blockchain network. We seek a senior data scientist to analyze large datasets, design data pipelines, and build dashboards for stakeholders.

You will partner with cross-functional teams to translate business needs into data-driven solutions in a remote-friendly setting with NYC as our center of gravity. The ideal candidate has 7+ years in data science, strong Python/SQL, and a passion for blockchain.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of professional data science experience.
• Degree in a quantitative field (e.g., CS, Statistics, Economics).
• Proven track record of designing and launching data science products.
• Experience collaborating with stakeholders from various business functions.
• Strong coding in Python and SQL; testing and deployment basics.
• Excellent communication to engage partners and drive alignment.
• Experience with web3 and blockchain protocols is a plus.
• Self-starter, ownership, and autonomy in architecture from scratch.

OP Labs builds Optimism, an open-source blockchain network that powers the next generation of financial infrastructure. Hundreds of companies, from the world's largest enterprises like Sony, Coinbase, Kraken, Uniswap, OKX, and Bitpanda to the most ambitious early-stage builders, use the OP stack to launch their own blockchains and bring their users onchain. What are the role responsibilities?

What skills do you bring?

• 7+ years of professional data science experience
• A degree in a quantitative field (e.g., Computer Science, Statistics, Economics, Sciences, Engineering)
• Strong track records of designing, prototyping, scaling and launching data science products to solve business problems.
• Experience collaborating with and understanding the needs of stakeholders from a variety of business functions and ability to work with domain experts to leverage their expertise into your solution
• Strong coding skills in general purpose languages like Python and SQL, and familiarity with software engineering principles around testing, code reviews and deployment.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage, influence, and inspire partners and stakeholders to drive collaboration and alignment.
• Experience with web3 and blockchain protocols is a plus.
• Self-starter who takes ownership, gets results, and enjoys the autonomy of architecting from the ground up.
