Job summary

ApartmentIQ is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to evolve its shared data platform powering all products. You’ll architect data capabilities, expand coverage, and drive insights for the multifamily sector.

You’ll translate product goals into high‑performing data outcomes, guiding ingestion, transformation, and observability while collaborating across Product and Engineering teams to deliver measurable value.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software or data engineering experience powering pipelines that power customer-facing features.
• Strong experience in Ruby on Rails and Python.
• Deep understanding of large-scale data collection, including web scraping and structured feeds.
• Hands-on with batch-style data workflows using dbt, Airflow, or equivalents.
• Cloud native expertise in AWS: RDS, ECS, S3, Lambda, OpenSearch.
• Observability mindset with performance monitoring, error tracking, and tracing.
• Ability to translate complex technical details into clear product outcomes.
• Adaptable, autonomous, and capable in a fast-growing environment.

Responsibilities

• Deliver product-focused data end-to-end across multiple products.
• Scale data ingestion pipelines for large multifamily datasets.
• Set technical standards for data accuracy, completeness, and timeliness.
• Collaborate with Product and Engineering to unlock measurable features.
• Maintain observability with monitoring, alerts, and health checks.
• Lead roadmap execution and communicate outcomes to stakeholders.
• Adopt new data/AI tools to improve team efficiency.
• Document standards and mentor others on data best practices.
