Job summary

Natera is seeking a Senior or Staff Data Engineer to join the Foundations team. You will build governed data products and the single source of truth for core metrics, with a focus on data modeling, governance, and AI-native practices.

You’ll work hands-on to design scalable pipelines, write production SQL/Python, and collaborate across product, lab operations, and analytics teams in a remote USA setting. Strong communication and architectural judgement are essential.

Qualifications

• 6+ years data or software engineering experience; senior tracks available.
• Strong SQL and Python skills with production-grade code.
• Proven experience designing scalable data models and pipelines.
• Hands-on dbt, Snowflake, data governance, and data quality tooling.
• Ability to communicate across technical and non-technical teams.

Responsibilities

• Design and build Data 360 products with governed, reusable models.
• Define canonical metrics and ensure single source of truth.
• Lead design reviews and build-vs-buy decisions with data platform teams.
• Develop and maintain transformations in dbt on Snowflake; ensure testing and CI/CD.
