Job summary

First Citizens Bank is seeking an experienced DevOps Engineer to design, build, and maintain CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure automation for a data engineering platform. The role emphasizes IaC, cloud operations across AWS and Azure, and enabling data engineers to deploy rapidly.

You will develop reusable infrastructure frameworks, implement monitoring and observability solutions, and contribute to deployment automation for data processing workflows.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a related field and 4+ years in DevOps engineering, data tech, or cloud platforms.
• Strong experience building automated CI/CD pipelines and IaC.
• Proficiency with Terraform, Ansible/Puppet, and cloud service providers (AWS/Azure).

Responsibilities

• Design and implement CI/CD pipelines using GitLab and Azure DevOps across multiple environments.
• Develop IaC frameworks for Snowflake, AWS, DBT, and Qlik infrastructure with Terraform.
• Create Python scripts for automation of deployment workflows and cloud operations.
• Implement monitoring and observability with Splunk, Dynatrace, CloudWatch for proactive alerts.
• Automate deployment frameworks for Airflow DAGs and dbt Cloud transformations.
• Plan and test backup and disaster recovery strategies for data infrastructure.
• Maintain up-to-date runbooks and documentation; mentor teammates.
