Job summary

First Citizens is seeking an experienced DevOps Engineer to design, build, and maintain CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure automation across AWS and Azure. This remote role supports data engineering platforms and requires expertise in IaC and cloud operations.

You will automate deployment workflows, ensure secure and auditable pipelines, and enable data engineers to deploy rapidly. The role emphasizes monitoring, disaster recovery, and comprehensive documentation to drive reliability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree with 4 years in DevOps, data technologies, cloud platforms
• Alternatively, High School Diploma with 8 years in DevOps, data technologies, cloud platforms
• Strong experience with CI/CD frameworks such as GitLab, Azure DevOps, Jenkins, and AWS

Responsibilities

• Design and automate enterprise CI/CD deployment pipelines across environments
• Provision and manage IaC frameworks for Snowflake, AWS, DBT, and Qlik using Terraform
• Develop Python scripts for automation, integrations between CI/CD, cloud, DBT and Snowflake
• Implement monitoring, logging and observability with Splunk, Dynatrace, CloudWatch
• Automate deployment frameworks for Airflow DAGs and dbt Cloud transformations
• Design backup and disaster recovery strategies; automate testing
• Create runbooks and documentation; mentor and train teams
