Job summary

First Citizens Bank is seeking a seasoned DevOps/Platform Engineer to lead end-to-end data processing system projects, from requirements to installation. You will drive CI/CD pipelines, cloud infrastructure, automation, and security practices across teams in a remote-capable role.

The role emphasizes collaboration with development, QA, security, and governance teams, including on-call support and leadership for less experienced associates.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in DevOps, Platform Engineering, Cloud Engineering, or related disciplines.
• 6+ years of experience in architecting, developing, maintaining, and optimizing enterprise-scale CI/CD pipelines using GitLab.
• 5+ years of experience in implementing DevSecOps practices, security controls, and automated compliance checks within CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience in developing automation solutions using Python, Bash, and other scripting languages.
• Knowledge in major tech stacks of modern application development.

Responsibilities

• CI/CD implementation - Develop, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines to automate build, test, and deployment.
• Infrastructure management - Provision, configure, and manage cloud infrastructure using IaC tools like Terraform and Ansible.
• Automation - Write scripts to automate manual processes and improve efficiency.
• System monitoring and reliability - Implement and manage monitoring, logging, and alerting; perform root cause analysis.
• Security as a code - Apply security best practices throughout the lifecycle of pipelines and infrastructure.
• Collaboration - Work with development, QA, App Security, Governance, and IT teams to improve delivery.
• Containerization and orchestration - Use Docker and Kubernetes for containerization and orchestration.
• On-call Support - 24/7 on-call support via rotations.
