Job summary

Thrivent is seeking a Manager of Cyber Security Engineering to lead engineering teams responsible for Asset Protection and Threat Detection & Response. The role sets technical direction and collaborates with product, security operations, and architecture to align efforts with business and risk-reduction goals.

The role emphasizes driving enterprise security across servers, endpoints, and networks, maturing threat visibility, and delivering reliable, observable security platforms.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent experience.
• 8+ years in IT with 5+ years in IT discipline (CRM, portfolio strategy/roadmap).
• 3+ years of leadership in IT discipline and 3+ years of management experience.
• Demonstrated leadership managing multi-discipline, high-performance teams.
• Strong ability to communicate with internal/external stakeholders and drive risk-reduction outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Lead cybersecurity engineering teams responsible for Asset Protection and Threat Detection & Response across enterprise environments.
• Set priorities, remove delivery barriers, align to product roadmaps and cyber risk reduction outcomes.
• Coach engineers and technical leads, fostering accountability and continuous improvement.
• Partner with product, security operations, and infrastructure to define strategies and priorities.
