Job summary
Thrivent is seeking a Manager of Engineering to provide technical leadership for the Engineering Productivity ecosystem, including our Internal Developer Platform (IDP) and self-service engineering capabilities. You will own the vision and strategy to enable engineers to build, deploy, and operate software more effectively.

Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent work experience.
- 8+ years of software/platform engineering experience with track record improving effectiveness.
- 3+ years of leadership driving technical strategy and execution across teams.
- Experience building and evolving an Internal Developer Platform at enterprise scale.
- Experience defining platform success metrics (adoption, satisfaction, lead time).
Responsibilities
- Own health, reliability, security, and long-term sustainability of Thrivent's Engineering Productivity platforms and IDP.
- Drive adoption through self-service experiences and education for engineering teams.
- Define roadmap and governance for the Internal Developer Platform with measurable value.
- Lead modernization, automation, and developer productivity initiatives across the ecosystem.
- Mentor engineers and promote best practices in platform engineering and cloud-native delivery.
