Job summary

Root Inc. is seeking a Staff Analyst to own analytics for the Customer Experience domain and serve as Root’s analytical SME for policyholder retention.

You will collaborate with Product, Engineering, Data Science, Operations, and other teams to shape strategy, design rigorous measurement plans, and ground decisions in evidence. You will maintain a forward-looking analytics roadmap, build experiments and dashboards, and translate customer behavior and business metrics into clear recommendations

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in Analytics, Decision Science, Product Analytics, Data Science, or equivalent.
• Own analytics for a meaningful business or product domain with independent opportunity identification.
• Proficiency with SQL and large datasets; strong BI/visualization skills (Tableau/Mode/Power BI).
• Proficiency with Python, R, or similar for statistical analysis and automation.
• Deep expertise in experimental design, causal inference, and applied statistics.
• Strong business acumen to evaluate options, quantify impact, and advise under uncertainty.
• Proven ability to lead cross-functional initiatives and influence stakeholders.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to present to senior leadership.

Responsibilities

• Own analytics for the Customer Experience domain and retention-related metrics.
• Define and prioritize the domain analytics roadmap with cross-functional partners.
• Establish experimentation and measurement systems for customer-facing initiatives.
• Support executive decision making with rigorous analysis and scenarios.
• Lead business reviews and communicate trends, risks, and insights to leadership.
• Build reusable tools and standards to improve decision quality across the domain.
