Job summary

Talent Shift, LLC is seeking an experienced Controller for a global insurance client on a fully remote, 5‑month project basis. The role emphasizes accurate GAAP/STAT reporting, strengthening internal controls, and evaluating statutory accounting changes.

Required: 10+ years in life & annuity insurance accounting, 5+ years contollership, and eligibility to work in the continental United States. This is a contract position with no visa sponsorship offered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in accounting, finance, or other related fields.
• 10+ years of life & annuity insurance accounting experience.
• 5+ years of Controllership experience.
• Residents of the continental U.S. only.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States; visa sponsorship not available.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with GAAP & STAT.
• Oversee internal controls over financial reporting and drive continuous improvement.
• Monitor changes in statutory accounting standards and assess their impact.
