The position requires a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, a claims license, and 5+ years of claims handling experience, with a strong emphasis on communication, negotiation, and litigation management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
• JD, advanced degree, or focused technical degree a plus.
• Active claims adjuster license or eligibility required.

Responsibilities

• Confirms coverage of claims by reviewing policies and documents.
• Analyzes coverage and communicates coverage positions.
• Prepares coverage position letters and refers losses as needed.
• Investigates loss facts and extent of damages.
• Directs assignments to experts and outside counsel.
• Evaluates information to determine insured exposure and reserves.
• Negotiates and settles claims within authority.
• Presents cases to senior leaders and underwriters.
• Mentors and trains new hires within claims.
