Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
• Claims adjuster license required.
• 7+ years of claims handling experience.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Resolve moderate to high complexity claims with exposure and disputes.
• Review policies to confirm coverage and communicate positions.
• Prepare coverage position letters and coordinate with SIU.
• Conduct investigations and direct experts and outside counsel.
• Set reserves and negotiate settlements within authority.
• Present at roundtables and train others in claims handling.
• Represent Markel at mediations, trials, and conferences.
