Job summary
SOLV Energy is seeking a Senior Commissioning Engineer to lead testing, commissioning and initial energization of utility-scale HV substations, BESS and PV facilities. The role requires travel ~20–30% and offers fully remote work with interview-based location discussion.
You will serve as the senior technical authority, mentor commissioning engineers, review test reports and ensure compliance with industry standards. Strong leadership and safety focus are essential for success.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience.
- 10+ years in testing, commissioning, energization of HV substations, BESS or PV facilities.
- 5+ years leading commissioning/energization on complex projects.
- 2+ years engineering leadership or supervision.
Responsibilities
- Lead and support testing, commissioning and initial energization activities for HV substations, BESS and PV facilities.
- Develop energization procedures, review protection schemes and switching plans.
- Provide technical leadership, mentoring and engineering sign-off across projects.
- Coordinate with Owners, Utilities, OEMs and field services for safe energization.
- Perform post-energization support, fault investigations and root-cause analyses.
