Job summary

Syms Strategic Group, LLC is seeking an experienced Systems Engineer for a 100% remote role supporting the Veterans Affairs department. The position requires strong cloud and Linux/Windows administration, and a Public Trust security clearance.

You will manage large-scale production systems on AWS/Azure, implement IaC, monitor performance, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to maintain system reliability and compliance. Bachelor’s degree and 8+ years of relevant experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in systems engineering or production environments.
• Strong cloud experience (AWS/Azure) with IaC and monitoring.
• Scripting and automation across Linux/Windows environments.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day operational support for complex application cloud systems.
• Develop solutions to routine technical problems and document issues.
• Maintain compliance with VA security policies and standards.
• Collaborate with customers and cross-functional teams to ensure uptime.
• Install and maintain computing infrastructure and perform on-call duties.
