Job summary

TEKsystems is seeking a hands-on Practice Architect - Level 2 to lead the design, build, and scale of cloud-native platforms on AWS and GCP, with a strong SRE foundation and enterprise-grade reliability.

You will mentor offshore teams, create reference implementations, and rapidly take solutions from concept to market. This is a permanent Chicago-based role with remote work options and a competitive compensation package.

Qualifications

• 10–12+ years of experience in cloud architecture, platform engineering, SRE or distributed systems.
• Hands-on, production-scale expertise in AWS and GCP, or hybrid environments.
• Strong knowledge of agentic platform concepts and enterprise applicability.
• Experience mentoring offshore/global teams and guiding multi‑tenant platforms.
• Professional Cloud Solution Architect certs (AWS/Azure/GCP) preferred; observability skills a plus.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end cloud platform architecture on AWS and GCP, including multi-account/multi-project setups.
• Design production-grade reference architectures for Kubernetes (EKS, GKE) and hybrid/multi-cloud deployments.
• Lead SRE practices: SLIs/SLOs, incident reviews, and reliability trade-offs.
• Mentor offshore teams, build reference implementations, and drive market-ready solutions.
• Drive platform engineering, automation (Terraform, CI/CD, GitOps), and scale delivery globally.
