Job summary

UNOPS is seeking a Senior Technical Advisor for the NDC Partnership to support the development of a robust domestic carbon market framework, with emphasis on Article 6 of the Paris Agreement. The role is retainer-based and home-based, offering exposure to high-level policy discussions and collaboration with government and international partners.

The incumbent will work closely with the DFFE and other technical teams to advance carbon pricing policy, registry enhancements, and capacity building

Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience in climate finance or carbon markets
• Experience with policy analysis and stakeholder engagement
• Knowledge of Article 6 of the Paris Agreement and carbon market design

Responsibilities

• Support operationalisation of the Article 6 framework (6.2 and 6.4)
• Enhance the Domestic Registry to support Article 6.2 and 6.4
• Analyze domestic carbon pricing policy and implementation post 2030
• Coordinate with national authorities and partners on carbon market readiness
• Prepare scoping and awareness materials for Article 6 implementations
