Job summary

AMSURG is seeking a Sr. Manager of Claims to lead the end-to-end claims portfolio within Risk Management. The role requires strategic leadership across Workers’ Compensation, Property, General Liability, and Professional Liability, with a remote-first work model.

The ideal candidate will have extensive claims experience, strong data analytics, and knowledge of relevant regulations. You will collaborate with executives and external partners to optimize outcomes and ensure governance.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of claims handling for various lines (workers’ comp, property, GL, professional).
• Experience analyzing loss runs and reserve setting for informed decisions.
• Understanding of state/federal regulations affecting insured claims is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Own evaluation and investigation of all claims and incidents; assess liability and compensability.
• Coordinate with external adjusters and defense counsel to drive favorable outcomes.
• Lead strategic direction, set governance, and pursue continuous improvement in claims processes.
• Advise cross-functional teams on returns-to-work, subpoenas, and medical records handling.
• Analyze complex data to identify trends and prepare leadership reports and ad-hoc analyses.
• Collaborate with Finance, Legal, IT, Real Estate and Operations to integrate risk practices.
