Job summary

Hewlett Packard Enterprise seeks a Sr. Federal Certification Engineer to drive certification programs (Common Criteria, FIPS, DoDIN) for HPE Networking. The role is remote, with labs coordination and cross-team collaboration across engineering and QA.

The candidate should have strong cryptography experience, software coding skills (C/C++, Python, Go), and several years in government certification projects. Travel may be required in some cases.

Qualifications

• BS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field; MS preferred or equivalent experience.
• Background in software engineering including C/C++, Python and/or Golang; ability to read C source code.
• Minimum 2 years of experience with cryptographic modules.
• Minimum 3 years of experience with certification schemes (Common Criteria, FIPS, DoDIN).
• Minimum 4 years in government certifications or security testing.

Responsibilities

• Assist in executing Common Criteria, FIPS, and DoDIN certifications across all HPE Networking product lines.
• Operate as a representative of HPE Networking with accredited labs during evaluation.
• Assist in generating documentation (e.g., FIPS policies, CC targets) or work with an external author.
• Provide consulting and guidance to developers and QA on how certification works.
• Attend regular meetings with accredited labs and engineering/QA to keep milestones on track.
• Communicate gaps found by labs to engineering/product teams to ensure remediation.
• Monitor government standards and inform management when changes may impact releases.
• Assist in development, compliance, and maintenance of FIPS compliant cryptographic modules.
