Job summary

Socket.dev is seeking a Senior Bookkeeper / Staff Accountant to deliver full-cycle bookkeeping, month-end close, and financial reporting for a portfolio of 10–15 client entities. This client-services role thrives in a fast-paced, fully remote environment with collaboration across teams.

The role requires 5+ years in public accounting, strong QuickBooks Online/Desktop skills, and solid accrual/accounting expertise.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in public accounting or client-based accounting environment.
• Strong QuickBooks Online/Desktop skills; QBO ProAdvisor certification a plus.
• Solid grasp of accrual accounting, reconciliations, and month-end close.
• Experience with multi-jurisdiction sales tax filing.
• Experience recognizing payroll expense from third-party reports.
• Strong communication and client-service skills.
• Ability to manage multiple client engagements simultaneously.
• Familiarity with Karbon, ADP, Microsoft Office.
• Hospitality/F&B client experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage full-cycle bookkeeping/accounting for multiple clients in QuickBooks Online and Desktop.
• Perform monthly reconciliations, accruals, journal entries, and financial statement prep.
• Build monthly sales journals from POS reports (Square, Heartland, Toast).
• Recognize payroll expense from payroll/POS reports (Square, Heartland, Toast, ADP, QuickBooks).
• Prepare, pay, and file multi-jurisdiction sales tax returns (monthly/quarterly).
• Act as primary accounting point of contact for assigned clients.
• Collaborate with internal team on consistent, accurate, timely deliverables.
• Track work and documentation in Karbon.
• Support quality control and adherence to firm standards.
