Placements24 and a global beauty leader seek a Remote Senior Beauty & Skincare Product Developer based in South Africa to conceptualize, formulate, and launch cutting-edge skincare and beauty products. You will drive projects from idea to market while collaborating with marketing, regulatory, and suppliers to ensure alignment and compliant execution.

The role requires deep cosmetic science expertise, hands-on formulation, and strong remote teamwork across cross-functional teams, with a focus on

Qualifications

Master's or Ph.D. in Chemistry, Cosmetic Science, Pharmacy, or a related scientific field.
≥8 years of progressive experience in beauty and skincare product development with launched products.
Deep knowledge of cosmetic ingredients, formulation techniques, and manufacturing processes for skincare.
Experience managing multiple projects in a fast-paced R&D environment.
Familiarity with FDA/EU cosmetic regulations.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Ability to work autonomously in a remote South Africa-based role.

Responsibilities

Lead ideation, formulation, and development of skincare/beauty products from concept to commercialization.
Research raw materials and technologies to identify product opportunities.
Collaborate with marketing, sales, and regulatory to ensure alignment and compliance.
Oversee formulation, ensuring efficacy, stability, safety, and cost-effectiveness.
Manage external contract manufacturers and R&D labs with clear specs.
