Husch Blackwell LLP is seeking a Senior Business Development Manager to lead BD strategy across multiple units. You will shape client development, collaborate with BD, marketing, and events teams, and mentor professionals to drive growth and brand visibility.

The role requires a deep BD background in professional services, strong leadership, and the ability to deliver measurable outcomes through strategic initiatives.

Qualifications

• 4-year degree with major coursework in marketing, business, communications, or related field.
• 10+ years of progressive marketing and business development experience at advancing levels; law firm or professional services background required.
• 5+ years of management experience with managerial responsibilities.
• Proven track record of developing and implementing BD plans across complex, multi-group portfolios with measurable results.
• Strong BD abilities: planning, organization, budgeting, ROI analysis, and negotiation.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership across a portfolio of business units and oversee BD support.
• Drive BD initiatives that align with unit strategies and revenue growth.
• Leverage knowledge of clients, markets, and firm capabilities to guide growth strategies.
• Identify priorities from client/market data and present initiatives to leadership.
• Develop differentiated client development approaches and repeatable playbooks.
• Set thought leadership direction and align with BD, communications, and events teams.
• Manage pipeline development and prioritize high-value pursuits.
• Establish best practices, tools, and processes to improve efficiency and scalability.
• Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders and mentor BD team members.
