Husch Blackwell LLP is seeking a Senior Business Development Manager to lead BD and marketing strategy for a portfolio of business units, shaping growth and client development across the firm. This role requires senior-level experience and a proven track record in professional services.

Responsibilities include setting BD direction, guiding initiatives across practice groups, driving pipeline, and mentoring the team, with remote work available across locations.

Qualifications

• 4-year degree in marketing, business, communications, or related field.
• 10+ years of progressive marketing and business development experience, preferably in a law firm or professional services.
• 5+ years of management experience with Manager-level professionals.
• Proven track record of developing and implementing BD plans across complex portfolios with measurable results.
• Strong BD abilities: priority-setting, strategic planning, organization, follow-through, delegation, and ROI analysis.
• Ability to motivate attorneys to engage in BD and implement plans across multiple groups.
• Creative, forward-thinking mindset with proactive, accountability-driven work ethic.
• Excellent communication, executive presence, and relationship-building skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership across a portfolio of business units through direct BD leadership for assigned groups and oversight of BD support.
• Ensure successful execution of BD and marketing initiatives with measurable outcomes aligned to business-unit strategies.
• Leverage knowledge of key clients and markets to advise leadership on growth opportunities.
• Translate client and market information to identify priorities and present initiatives to leadership.
• Introduce differentiated client-development approaches and build repeatable playbooks for success.
• Set direction for thought leadership and client programming with BD, communications, and events teams.
• Drive pipeline development and opportunity management with consistent prioritization and advancement.
• Establish best practices, tools, and processes to improve efficiency and scalability of BD efforts.
• Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders and mentor team members.
