Job summary

GOAT Group is seeking a Senior Software Engineer - Backend to tackle complex problems and scale systems for a leading fashion marketplace. You’ll break down projects, help shape technical direction, and contribute to a robust server-side stack.

You will extend our API, work with PostgreSQL, and improve testing and deployment practices while collaborating with cross-functional squads and mentors across the team.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of engineering experience.
• Experience building, maintaining, or architecting production web applications.
• Knowledge of API design, database design, naming, and simplifying complex services.
• Understanding deployment, migrations, configuration, and provisioning.
• Professional experience with Ruby on Rails with Sorbet, PostgreSQL, AWS.

Responsibilities

• Work with product managers, designers, and engineers to build features.
• Extend and improve back-end systems and APIs.
• Interface directly with the PostgreSQL cluster.
• Contribute to testing environments and automation.
• Address architecture, security, performance, and scalability challenges.
• Participate in code reviews and cross-team collaboration.
• Stay updated with server-side development trends.
• Mentor and support other engineers in your areas of expertise.
