Job summary

Commerce is seeking a Senior Software Engineer - Backend (Go) to join the fully remote Engineering team. You will help build scalable, high-performance services powering a data-intensive SaaS platform and collaborate across product and engineering to solve complex problems.

You will work with Go, MySQL, Redis, and Kubernetes, ensuring robust deployments and observability with tools like New Relic. Strong Linux, CI/CD, and architectural skills are required for success.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of backend development experience.
• 2+ years with MySQL, caching (Redis) and other non-relational storage.
• Strong understanding of database schema design, caching and scalability.
• Experience with Kubernetes is strongly preferred and Docker/CI-CD tooling.
• Knowledge of Linux and distributed systems.
• Experience with full-stack observability tools like New Relic is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate on architecture, design, and development of scalable back-end services.
• Improve and support CI/CD pipelines; drive automation for deployments.
• Identify improvements to DevOps practices and tooling for robust systems.
• Provide post-release support and analyze failures to prevent recurrence.
• Contribute to architectural decisions and mentor engineers.
