Job summary

Atlassian is seeking a backend engineer to design, build, and ship scalable backend features across a distributed environment. Work closely with engineers, architects, product managers, and designers in an open, agile workspace.

You will develop backend applications using modern OO languages, implement scalable RESTful microservices, and work with diverse databases (Oracle/Postgres, DynamoDB/Cassandra). Role is 40 hours/week, Mon-Fri, with 100% telecommuting permitted and potential for bonuses

Qualifications

• Requires a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, IT, Statistics, Data Science, ML or related field.
• Four years of related work experience required.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and ship backend features in a scalable distributed environment.
• Ensure visibility with error reporting and monitoring; participate in Agile ceremonies.
• Review code with best practices for readability, testing, docs, reliability, security, and performance.
• Develop backend apps using object-oriented languages, RESTful microservices; work with databases ranging from RDBMS to NoSQL.
