Job summary

Ladders is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer (Python) to build backend capabilities that power agentic workflow experiences and AI-enabled platform features. You will collaborate with product and engineering teams to refine requirements and deliver improvements, while designing REST and GraphQL APIs and contributing to responsible AI practices.

Location: Remote - US-based candidates only. Compensation: $135,000 - $160,000 annually.

Qualifications

5+ years of experience building production Python applications.
Experience integrating AI features into backend systems.
Proficient in designing REST and GraphQL APIs for performance and maintainability.
Strong SQL skills with PostgreSQL.
Familiarity with frontend concepts, especially Vue.
Excellent communication for remote collaboration.

Responsibilities

Develop and maintain flow registry features for workflow services and the backend platform.
Collaborate with stakeholders to refine requirements and deliver improvements.
Design and review REST and GraphQL APIs for frontend compatibility.
Improve automated testing to enhance quality and feedback.
Share best practices to support responsible AI use.
Participate in on-call rotations for production troubleshooting.
Monitor market trends to stay competitive in agentic platforms.
