Job summary

Ladders is seeking a Senior Software Engineer, Backend - Payments Platform to join a leader in the Finance & Insurance space. This role focuses on scalable backend systems powering payment processing and new capabilities.

You will own critical services end to end, from design through deployment and monitoring, collaborating with PMs and peers to translate business needs into robust, low-latency platform solutions.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of backend software engineering experience in service-oriented or microservices architecture.
• Proficient in Go or similar backend languages, with a focus on scalable, low-latency APIs.
• Proven track record of owning features from design to deployment in fast-paced environments.
• Experience with financial systems or high-volume transactional systems requiring precision.
• Ability to utilize generative AI responsibly to enhance workflow efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Design and build scalable, fault-tolerant backend services for payment processing using Go.
• Own end-to-end delivery of payment features, from design to production deployment and monitoring.
• Build platform primitives and self-serve APIs for other teams to integrate new payment methods.
• Collaborate with engineers and product managers to translate product vision into technical plans.
• Drive improvements in system reliability, observability, and performance across payment services.
• Contribute to engineering quality through code reviews and advocacy for best practices.
