Job summary

Ladders is seeking a Senior Software Engineer, Backend - Payments Platform to join a leader in the Finance & Insurance space. This role focuses on scalable backend systems powering payment processing and new capabilities.

You will own critical services end to end, from design through deployment and monitoring, collaborating with PMs and peers to translate business needs into robust, low-latency platform solutions.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of backend software engineering experience in service-oriented or microservices architecture.
• Proficient in Go or similar backend languages, with a focus on scalable, low-latency APIs.
• Proven track record of owning features from design to deployment in fast-paced environments.
• Experience with financial systems or high-volume transactional systems requiring precision.
• Ability to utilize generative AI responsibly to enhance workflow efficiency.

Responsibilities

For our client, we are seeking a Senior Software Engineer, Backend - Payments Platform to join the team of a leader in the Finance & Insurance space.

This role will focus on building and scaling backend systems that power payment processing and new payment capabilities. You will own critical services end to end, from technical design through deployment, monitoring, and ongoing reliability improvements. The position also partners closely with product managers and engineering peers to translate business needs into robust, low-latency platform solutions.

Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available

Compensation: $186,065 – $218,900 annually
