Job summary

Wellhub is hiring a Senior Backend Software Engineer for the Marketing Engineering & Platform team, remotely in Brazil. You will own SMB acquisition services, build scalable Kotlin/Go backends, and work with Kafka, AWS, and contemporary integrations like Salesforce and Segment.

You’ll collaborate with Product, Marketing, and Sales to shape robust architectures, improve funnel conversion, and drive reliable, observable systems while maintaining a strong focus on wellbeing and team growth.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience designing, building, and operating distributed systems in production.
• Production experience with Kotlin and Go, or strong Java background with Kotlin/Go focus.
• Event-driven systems and asynchronous processing; Kafka or equivalent.
• Cloud-oriented with containerized microservices on AWS and Kubernetes.
• Data modeling across relational and NoSQL stores (PostgreSQL, Redis, DynamoDB).
• Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools to improve workflows.
• Fluent Portuguese for daily squad interactions and English for cross-team work.

Responsibilities

• Own SMB acquisition funnel services end to end in Kotlin and Go.
• Drive event-driven architecture and asynchronous messaging with Kafka.
• Harden and scale integrations with Salesforce, HubSpot, Segment.
• Establish observability and reliability with Datadog and OpenTelemetry; define SLOs.
• Collaborate with Product, Marketing, and Sales to translate goals into architecture.
• Mentor peers and participate in code reviews across teams.
• Leverage AI-assisted tooling to accelerate delivery and testing.
• Support wellbeing and a healthy work-life balance within the team.
