Job summary

Ladders is seeking a Senior Software Engineer (Institutional, Financing) to join our finance technology team. You will own backend design and delivery for financing products in a high‑reliability environment, from architecture through production launch.

Based remote in the US, you will build scalable services, collaborate with Product, Risk, and Operations, mentor engineers, and raise engineering standards with better tooling and observability.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of backend software engineering experience in high‑reliability financial workloads.
• Experience designing and scaling service-oriented architectures.
• Proficiency with Go, Java, or similar languages.
• Strong understanding of distributed systems, data integrity, and availability.
• Ability to mentor engineers and lead design reviews.

Responsibilities

• Own the design and delivery of new financing products and features from architecture to production launch
• Build and maintain backend services, APIs, and frameworks for loan lifecycle management and risk calculations
• Drive engineering excellence by enhancing developer tooling and operational reliability
• Collaborate with Product, Risk, and Operations teams to translate business needs into scalable technical solutions
• Lead initiatives to strengthen system resilience and reduce operational risk
