Job summary

GitLab is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer for the Platform Insights team. You will design and evolve backend services in Go for the Data Insights Platform and Siphon, focusing on scalable ingestion, storage, and query APIs across SaaS, Dedicated, and Self-Managed environments.

You will own architecture for high-throughput systems, improve reliability and observability, and collaborate with Infrastructure, Data, and other engineering teams in a fully remote setup.

Qualifications

• Extensive backend development experience in Go.
• Experience designing scalable, reliable systems for high-throughput workloads.
• Experience building and evolving APIs and service integrations (gRPC or equivalent).
• Experience with data platforms, data pipelines, or foundational infrastructure.
• Familiarity with ClickHouse or similar query-focused stores and related tooling.
