Take ownership as the lead attorney on trust and estate litigation, handling matters from inception through trial.

Qualifications

• Active California Bar license in good standing.
• 5+ years probate, trust, and estate litigation or 8+ years civil/family litigation with strong references.
• Ability to independently manage a caseload and serve as attorney of record.
• Strong written and verbal communication with courtroom confidence.
• Excellent attention to detail, organization, and deadline management.
• Comfort advising clients directly and exercising independent judgment.
• Genuine interest in trust and estate law with ongoing development.

Responsibilities

• Serve as lead attorney on trust and estate litigation from inception through trial.
• Draft pleadings, motions, discovery, memoranda, and other documents.
• Take depositions, attend mediations, negotiate settlements, and appear in probate court.
• Advise clients on pre-litigation strategy and case direction.
• Manage conservatorship and guardianship proceedings through representation.
• Oversee probate administrations from opening to discharge of the personal representative.
• Counsel trustees and beneficiaries on trust administration matters.
• Research complex issues and translate findings into strategy.

Note:

This role requires either 5+ years of probate, trust, and estate litigation experience, or 8+ years of civil or family law litigation experience with demonstrated job stability and strong professional references. Candidates without one of these two qualifications will not be considered.

• Draft and strategize pleadings, motions, discovery requests, memoranda, and other legal documents.


• Take depositions, attend mediations, negotiate settlements, and appear regularly in probate court.


• Advise clients independently on pre‑litigation strategy, litigation risk, and case direction.


• Manage conservatorship and guardianship proceedings from initiation through ongoing representation.


• Oversee probate administrations from opening proceedings through discharge of the personal representative.


• Counsel trustees and beneficiaries on trust administration matters and disputes.


• Research complex legal issues in trust, estate, and probate law and translate findings into actionable strategy.

• Proven ability to independently manage a caseload and serve as attorney of record.
