Job summary

Weave seeks a Principal Engineer to shape the technical strategy of our Messaging Fellowship, guiding architecture across teams and driving long-term platform direction. You will influence decisions that affect hundreds of millions of messages and terabytes of data, operating with ambiguity and leading through influence.

Qualifications

• 12+ years of software engineering with progressive technical leadership.
• Experience leading cross-team technical initiatives with measurable outcomes.
• Ability to influence without authority and translate tradeoffs into business terms.
• Deep expertise in distributed systems handling large-scale transactions and data.

Responsibilities

• Own multi-year technical vision for messaging infrastructure at scale.
• Drive architectural coherence across teams and manage cross-system dependencies.
• Lead due diligence for major initiatives including build-vs-buy and migrations.
• Mentor Staff and Senior Engineers to grow technical leadership across the fellowship.
