Job summary

First Citizens Bank is seeking a Senior Software Engineer – API Development & Cloud Migration to design, develop, modernize, and support enterprise APIs across Payments, Money Movement, and Information Reporting platforms. This role focuses on transforming legacy services into cloud-native, scalable API-driven solutions while enabling seamless integration with internal and external systems.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or equivalent with 4+ years of software development experience.
Experience migrating APIs to cloud-native architectures.
Strong knowledge of API security and performance optimization.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, enhance, and support secure, scalable APIs and microservices for Payments, Money Movement, and Information Reporting platforms.
Modernize and migrate APIs and integration services from on-prem to AWS cloud-native architectures.
Develop cloud-native solutions leveraging AWS services including API Gateway, Lambda, ECS, Step Functions, SQS, SNS, DynamoDB, RDS, S3, IAM, KMS, and AWS Transfer Family.
Build RESTful APIs and microservices using Java, Spring Boot, and AWS-native technologies.
Ensure security, governance, monitoring, and production support across the API lifecycle.
