First Citizens Bank is seeking a Software Engineer II—API Development & Cloud Migration to design, develop, and modernize enterprise APIs across Payments, Money Movement, and Information Reporting platforms. You will drive cloud-native, scalable API solutions while collaborating with architects, product owners, and stakeholders.

Role focuses on API lifecycle, migration from on-prem to AWS, and strong hands-on development with Java, Spring Boot, and AWS services.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent with experience; 2+ years in software development.
• 2+ years with enterprise-scale APIs using AWS tech such as API Gateway, Lambda, ECS, Step Functions, SQS, SNS, DynamoDB, RDS, S3, IAM, KMS.
• 2+ years in Java/Spring Boot, Node.js, RESTful API development, microservices, API security, and cloud-native design.
• Experience with Terraform, Docker, OpenShift, Kubernetes, CI/CD, and event-driven architectures; API modernization and migration.

Responsabilités

• Design, develop, enhance, and support secure, scalable APIs and microservices.
• Migrate APIs and integrations to AWS cloud-native architectures.
• Build containerized apps with OpenShift, Docker, and AWS ECS.
• Implement API security controls and observability for monitoring.
• Contribute to code reviews and engineering best practices.
