Job summary

UnitedHealth Group seeks a Senior AI/ML Software Engineer to build AI-powered data products and modern experiences across analytics and healthcare platforms. This hands-on role covers frontend, backend, AI/ML, and cloud-native data solutions for self-service analytics and quality improvement.

You will design and deploy AI/ML solutions, build scalable apps with React/TypeScript/Java/Python, and collaborate across teams to deliver high-quality solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's in Computer Science, Engineering, AI/ML, Data Science or equivalent experience.
• 6+ years hands-on software engineering building enterprise-scale apps.
• 4+ years React, TypeScript, JavaScript, Java/Spring Boot, Python, REST APIs, SQL.
• 1+ year experience in AI/ML and Generative AI production deployments.
• 2+ years experience with LLMs, RAG, vector databases, prompt engineering, AI agents.
• 4+ years cloud-native apps on Azure, AWS, or GCP.
• 3+ years with Snowflake, Databricks, or Microsoft Fabric.
• 4+ years with microservices, CI/CD, observability, testing, and best practices.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and deploy AI/ML and Generative AI solutions using LLMs and RAG.
• Build scalable full-stack apps with React, TS, JS, Java/Spring Boot, Python, REST APIs, SQL.
• Develop intuitive dashboards, reporting solutions, and AI-enabled workflows.
• Enhance self-service analytics, reporting, and data exploration capabilities.
• Support quality, patient safety, benchmarking, insights, and workflow automation.
• Integrate apps with enterprise data platforms and cloud-native data ecosystems.
• Design microservices, APIs, data models, and event-driven architectures.
• Apply CI/CD, automated testing, observability, security, and performance best practices.
• Collaborate with product, analytics, business, and platform teams.
• Provide technical leadership and mentor engineers.
